Wilmington, N.C. — Seven people were shot and three were killed in a mass shooting in Wilmington overnight.
The shooting occurred at a house party near the intersection of 7th and Kidder Streets around midnight, according to WECT. Officers found seven people shot at the home.
Wilmington Police Chief Donny Williams said they are working to identify suspects and don’t feel the public is in any danger. Those who were killed have not been named yet by authorities as police haven’t yet notified the families. A motive for the shooting is not known.
The four who were hurt are being treated at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Saturday’s shooting comes a day after a man rammed a car into two officers at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol.
“We are still working to notify family members of this tragic event and are, therefore, unable to release the names of the victims at this time,” police said.
Last month, 10 people were killed in a shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.
